Biochemical Sciences

The Biochemical Sciences laboratories consist of four specialist units led by scientific experts in their field each with a clear vision for the provision of a quality laboratory service.

Many of the tests performed require tailored interpretation and advice to aid in diagnosis and monitoring of disease, often delivered as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). They have a reputation for cutting-edge Research and Development working with clinical colleagues and have won many awards particularly in the field of pharmacogenetics. Pride is taken in the training and development of staff and those on secondments.
